The problem

Gift cards are a $1.2 trillion habit built on broken rails.

1 store

Locked in

Closed-loop cards spend at one merchant only — forgotten in drawers, lost in inboxes, stranded at the wrong store.

~42%

Breakage

Of consumers carry unused balances. Billions expire every year — value that never reaches the customer or the merchant.

0 data

Blind merchants

Issuers see the sale, not the shopper. No identity, no loyalty, no reason to come back.
